Recently a man from the "Metro" rang up Joey Carbstrong to get his response to a poll the "Metro" conducted, questioning the use of some strong words Joey used in a recent interview on "This Morning".

The poll asked the public "Is it right to refer to farming as "rape, murder and slavery" with the option of answering "Yes- it is exactly the same thing" or "No- it is highly offensive to victims of such crimes." The reporter pointed out that the overwhelming response was "No". Joey Carbstrong (rightly so) pointed out that it was an appeal to popularity logical fallacy and that just because most people agree on something doesn't make it right.

After mentioning the poll, Joey and the reporter had a discussion about the use of "probably some of the most powerful words we have in the English language". After discussing the various meanings to "Murder", "Slavery" and "Rape", Joey pointed out that they were just arguing about words: "Let's jut steer away from the word games", "How come people want to talk about the words, and don't want to talk about the morality of the act, itself?"

The reporter then asked Joey if there was a way to be an activist for veganism without offending human victims of rape. murder, slavery, etc. Joey then replied with "I will never not refer to animals as slaves, because they are.- That is an injustice to the animals to not refer to them as slaves-
because they are not free."

After the reporter admits to have never seen slaughterhouse footage, Joey mentions "The public are ignorant to something they are funding". The reporter was refreshingly receptive  to Joey's explanation of demand and supply and how ultimately it is the consumer of animal products that is responsible for the animals exploitation and death.

Near the end of the call the report asked his last question: "Have you always been vegan?", to which Joey Carbstrong replied:
"This is my exact point, I haven't always been a vegan. I don't think I'm superior to people, like they are claiming. I used to eat animals more that anyone else, three times a day, steaks for dinner, pigs bodies for breakfast, chicken for lunch."
